Somebody sent a message, offered a job, sent a link, or called to say you are in trouble. These are the patterns that show up most often in Thailand, and the numbers that actually answer. Not for grandparents only: the largest group of fraud victims in Thailand is aged thirty to forty-four.

A salary too good for the work, no experience needed, leave now, cross a border, someone will "handle everything" — and they ask for your passport.

Never give your passport to a recruiter, and always tell your family before you travel. Call 1300.

A call saying you have an illegal parcel, your account was used for laundering, there is a warrant — and you should "transfer the money for inspection" or install an app. Real police and real banks never ask you to move money over the phone.

Hang up. Call the organisation back yourself on its official number. If you already transferred, call 1441 now.

"Your parcel could not be delivered," "your electricity bill is overdue," "claim your refund," with a link — or an .apk file to install from outside the Play Store.

Instant approval, but pay a "fee" first — or an investment that pays every day, lets you withdraw once, and never again.

No real loan charges a fee before you receive the money, and no real investment is guaranteed.
